Of Spas and Pampering
I am going to post a little something now as this is long overdue. As we find new and innovative ways to keep ourselves occupied 100% of the time me and Chatsical decided to explore the world of spas and pampering. Hence, a couple of days ago we trotted across to the renowned and grandly rebuilt Dutch Hospital in search of exotic ways to treat our bodies right( in truth thought we went so I could get a gift for my sister). Unfortunately our target, Spa Ceylon was closed although they had advertised to be open from 10am onwards. So much for trusting the world wide web! Anyway, we are not quitters so we turned int he direction of Odel, which apparently kept its word of opening for business at 10am.Once inside came across quite a large collection of massage oils which ranged from lime to rose, from promising peace of mind to erotic behavior! I was lost in the myriad of aromas but finally decided to get a rose oil.

An Interesting Way of Beating Stress
Ironing (do we have someone here who never irons??;)
Ironing is hardly a popular household task. But the repetitive
back-and-forth motions associated with that activity may be one of the
best stress reducers around. Why? It has a lot in common with
meditation, says Deb Shapiro, 30-year meditation teacher, based in
Boulder, Colo., and co-author of Be the Change: How Meditation Can Transform You and the World (Sterling Ethos, 2009).
Strange But True: In day-to-day living, people tend to keep their minds busy with a myriad of activities, says Shapiro. When we’re stressed, that busyness is exaggerated. As a result, our heart rate and blood pressure may increase. Meditation helps us become totally present with whatever we’re doing, she says. Even the simple act of breathing in and out—focusing on the rhythm of the breath—can immediately quiet the body and the mind, helping reduce stress, she says.
Meditation can be applied to just about every household task—ironing, folding laundry, cutting vegetables—when you focus solely on what you’re doing. “When done with awareness, what is often considered boring and mundane work can actually be a way to develop a quiet and stress-free mind,” says Shapiro.

Cup Cakes It Is!
What is this great fascination with cup cakes? Is it because they are irresistably sweet and devilishly cute? Or is it beacause you need a considerable amount of skill to create them? What ever the reason almost everyone today can be whisked away by cup cakes. Interestingly though they are pretty difficult to eat in a nice and tidy manner. However, they are defintiely a treat for the eyes!
Time to be seduced by another sugary creation..
Finally it's Friday, that extra special day that we wait for everyday. And naturally this occasion deserves the finest quality..
And we shall indulge on a guilt-free ride of scrumptious eclairs, cup cakes, sweet patisseries etc.. All our cravings through out the week, crammed into one delightful celebration!
Ok I am nuts! I think it's the Friday excitement, getting the better of me!

Hear Hear Chathsical!
Well said Chathsical! I am awed by the way you have used humor and sarcasm to paint such a beautiful picture of our much loved heaven! Having said that I do have to agree with you. MSN is only but a play thing for small children. We are matured adults here and certainly are not in need of such childish amusement. We have far more important tasks at hand.
For example we have to decide on where to go during break, which may seem like an easy enough decision but believe me it is a tedious task. First we have to take in to account the craving of some five or more people ranging from savory to sweet to 'I'm on a diet'. Then there is the issue of precious time. Mind you our goal is to make the most of golden 30 minutes allocated for this task. Some may want to leave NOW whereas others may decide they have far more pressing matters to attend to, while some others may just want to leave in ten minutes (which usually drags on for fifteen to twenty minutes). Once all these elements are strategically analyzed you will see a bunch of young lasses trooping across to the lift in search of a break from heaven. After all the planning then we realize that the precious minutes waiting for the lift has not been taken into account! Tut tut! So there you go, who needs MSN when we are such complicated creatures engaged in such dynamic decision making?
No more MSN?.....But that's the least of our problems!
Greetings to Radical
Rascal and to the rest of you!
So when we had the
inspiration to have our own blog, the idea was to post something in here on a
daily or at least on a regular basis. We haven't really lived up to the
expectations but then who cares?? .. This is suppose to be fun, random and
spontaneous! So here I am back again,
randomly of course, to share a bit from our exciting lives in 'HEAVEN'..
The past couple of
weeks have been quite eventful with various interesting threats looming large
on the horizon. They have now become an important part of our lives at 'HEAVEN'
and they certainly glorify our lives by leaps and bounds.. I bet Radical Rascal
will have some comments on this?
But all in all,
despite the unexpected dilemma posed by the banning of MSN and the
aforementioned threats, everyone has been holding up impressively well!! We are survivors indeed! That is not mentioning the occasional nervous
breakdowns from Hannah and the suicide missions
that pop up from nowhere!
Coming back to
'Banning of MSN' - doesn’t bother us at all. We have far more important tasks
at hand to ponder over. Besides, the 'Misery Group' in all its glory will
always find better ways to breakthrough!!

DIY Manicure
As our current obsession is to do ourselves a manicure.....
1.
Carefully remove any existing nail polish with cotton wool and nail polish
remover.
2.
Soak hands in warm, soapy water, ensuring your nails are clean. Pat hands dry.
3.
Begin shaping your nails with light strokes, using a double-sided emery board.
Use a few short strokes, followed by deliberate, single, long strokes to smooth
the edges on each nail.
4.
Have dry skin? Experiment with rubbing cuticle softener on your fingernails and
leave for a minute before soaking your hands in soapy water again.
5.
Softly push back your cuticles with a clean cotton bud. Very carefully and
gently clip any obvious, extra skin. Then massage your hands with lotion.
6.
Apply a few light strokes of a base coat, going from the bottom to the top of
the nail. Allow this to fully dry before applying two light coats of nail
polish.
